Lesson on Poland's history

As usual, the day started with a team gathering at breakfast and the morning meeting where the message of the day was shared and yesterday’s journal was read.

In the class that I had and my Dad teaches we had the kids do worksheets and rehearsed a song. Throughout the second lesson we engaged them in fun games, like foosball, table tennis, and UNO. Next on the agenda was the movie in English.

After our classes, the team departed for Warsaw. Once we arrived our first stop was the Warsaw Uprising Museum. It was an excellent opportunity for me to experience some of Poland’s history. We even watched a 3-D film which simulated a flight over Warsaw in 1945. At the end of the film we saw a comparison of Warsaw’s population between 1939 and1944. It was pretty sad.

After that my Dad and I took a walk through Old Town. We got a few souvenirs and more ice cream. Afterwards we returned to Reymontówka for dinner and chatted a bit, though we were all tired.

Then the evening activity began. It was a mock Polish wedding. A bridal march was played as the bride and groom walked up the aisle, and a purple cloth was wrapped around their hands. The wedding concluded with a dance and reception where we all had some refreshments.

Stay tuned for tomorrow as we say our final goodbyes.
